2022 FIFA World Cup Ads by Brands

The FIFA World Cup, which started on November 20, directed the advertisements and products of many brands such as Adidas, McDonald's, Aldi, Coca-Cola, Nike, and Twitter. Within these campaigns, some brands included star football players in their advertisements, while others took Metaverse, the most popular concept of recent times, as their center and associated it with football.

Adidas

Many famous football players appear in adidas' "Family Reunion" campaign film. "Life is Life," a popular song from the 1980s, was used in the November 14 promo. The campaign's starting premise was the unifying power of football. Football stars from around the world reunited; the enthusiasm generated by their reunion was combined with pre-tournament preparations, and it was said that the players' common ambitions and loves met in football. Furthermore, Adidas, which will clothe the teams of seven countries in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, has deferred the release of World Cup jerseys until Generation Z.

McDonald’s

McDonald's launched another interesting campaign. Wieden+Kennedy New York is behind the campaign, which will air the FIFA World Cup in over 75 countries. The advertisement revolves around the question "Would you like to go to McDonald's?" which practically everyone on the world can answer. Jason Sudekis, TikTok star Khaby Lame, and K-Pop trio Itzy participate in the campaign film, where the brand promotes social media.

Aldi

In its new commercial, Aldi, the discount supermarket chain, combines the excitement of the FIFA World Cup and Christmas. Because Qatar is hosting the World Cup, the tournament and Christmas fall on the same day. In relation to this, the commercial also mentions the 1998 Brazilian National Team advertisement. Carrot Kevin, the campaign's face who appears every Christmas season, meets "Ronaldi" at the airport. Kevin, who enjoys playing football with Messy, Marrowdona, and a vegetable named Macarooney, unhappily misses his flight.

Aldi, which released another commercial as a continuation of the previous, this time relates to the film "Home Alone." Carrot Kevin, who missed his flight to Paris for Christmas due to his football passion, is reunited with his family after overcoming many difficulties at home, as depicted in the movie.

Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola, the official sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, launched a global campaign with the slogan "Believing is Magic". Coca-Cola's campaign, which started in 1974 and was done in partnership with FIFA, was shown in more than 200 countries.

Nike

Nike has signed a commercial with names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Ronaldinho, Sam Kerr, and Alex Morgan. The campaign, called the "Footballverse,", comes up with a search for an answer to the question of who is the most successful football player of all time. In the 4-minute ad, we see the players competing with their skills in an imaginary universe and laboratory.

Twitter

During EURO 2022, Twitter United Kingdom, Women suppressed tweets from fans wearing fan scarves supporting the England Women's National Football Team. A total of 2500 shared tweets were included in the fan scarf as part of the #ShareYourRoar campaign, which was created to support the team nicknamed "Lioness." Twitter intends to recreate and implement this campaign at the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and the Women's World Cup in 2023.
