Adidas Originals Unveils New Campaign: Celebrating Trefoil's Legacy

In a new campaign titled "We Inspired the World, You Created a Culture," adidas Originals pays tribute to its iconic Trefoil symbol, which has been a companion on the journey of athletes and cultural pioneers for over 50 years.

The Power of Three Reimagined

As part of its global platform launch, adidas Originals introduces a refreshed visual identity that places a stronger emphasis on the iconic Trefoil logo. The traditional adidas text beneath the Trefoil is removed, making the symbol more prominent.

Triptychs Celebrate Timeless Icons

adidas Originals celebrates its enduring influence in sports, skateboarding, music, and fashion through a series of triptych photographs. These triptychs focus on three timeless characters from the brand's archives: Superstar, Gazelle, and Samba.

Gazelle: A Journey Through Time

A film by motion picture producer Will Dhorn tells the story of Gazelle through the eyes of a young character. This character travels through different eras while wearing iconic adidas apparel, meeting skateboarders Mike Arnold and Miles Silvas along the way. The film showcases how Gazelle evolved from a training shoe to an athletic icon.

The Birth of Samba

Visual artist Justyna Obasi brings the story of Samba to life. Originally named differently, Samba earned its title due to its resemblance to the footwork of footballers and samba dancers. Justyna Obasi narrates Samba's journey across different places and time periods.

A Star-Studded Presentation

The three films, accompanied by a trio of photo sets by Chadwick Tayler, are complemented by appearances from partners and brand friends such as Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Jenna Ortega, and Pusha T, who share Trefoil's story worldwide.

A Thoroughly Researched Campaign

The new campaign is the result of an extensive research process that aimed to accurately represent the stories behind each silhouette. Vintage garments from adidas Creative Direction Vice President Nic Galway's personal archive, as well as archived clothing from Herzogenaurach, Germany, were used, along with vintage items sourced from Los Angeles and the United Kingdom, to ensure an authentic representation.

adidas Originals' latest campaign not only celebrates the Trefoil's rich history but also signifies its enduring cultural relevance and future inspiration.
