Giant Rising in Investments for the Plant-Based Nutrient Sector

According to the report by the research company Boston Consulting Group (BCG) based on 2021, the amount of investment made in the plant-based nutrient sector has increased to 5 million dollars. The same report says consumers are more into adopting non-animal protein products than in previous years. One of the main reasons for this is that plant-based products play a really important role in the fight against global warming.

One of the most effective causes of global warming, which is inexorably increasing  with rapid population growth, is the livestock industry. The sector responsible for 15% of global food emissions is about to give up its place to the plant-based food sector. This is because, if you look at the research, the carbon emissions of the plant-based food sector are much lower than those of the livestock sector. It is also a solution to the growing hunger problem in the world.

According to the study, which involved a total of more than 3,700 people from America, Europe and Asia, it was found that consumers like and tend to buy plant-based meat products. It is predicted that traditional meat consumption will decline by 2025, and the share of plant-based foods, which currently accounts for 2% of the sector, will increase to 11% by 2025. This will avoid 0.85 gigatons of greenhouse gas emissions globally by 2030. Another interesting piece of information from the study is that investments in the development and expansion of this sector reduce greenhouse gas emissions 11 times more than investments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the automotive sector.
