Pepsi Draws Attention with an Innovative Claim in the Classic Cuba Libre Cocktail!

Pepsi is reinterpreting the classic Cuba Libre cocktail, bringing a fresh perspective to beverages. In their new campaign, Pepsi introduces a bold claim that challenges the norm: Pepsi asserts that the traditional Cuba Libre is not actually a mixture of rum and cola. Originating during the Spanish-American War in the aftermath of Cuba's independence in the 1890s, the famous cocktail, according to Pepsi, suggests that the true companion to rum is actually "Pepsi."

To announce this unique claim, Pepsi has initiated a special campaign. Throughout the campaign, the Pepsi logo is subtly integrated into various scenes. A crinkled Pepsi logo on ice-cooled rum bottles and a detail sneaking through layers of paper draw attention. Similarly, the creases formed by the moisture on coasters reveal the Pepsi logo when placed under a filled Pepsi glass.

Pepsi's assertion builds upon previous campaigns where different objects came together to form the Pepsi logo within their details. Consumer preference surveys indicate a 56% preference for Pepsi over Cola in cocktails. Following these results, Pepsi tailors the campaign to align with consumer choices.

Kyle Shadic, Chief Beverage Research Officer at PepsiCo Global Beverages, commented on the campaign, stating, 'Pepsi offers a unique summer cocktail experience by beautifully reflecting the warm flavors of rum. It blends warm spice notes such as cinnamon, coconut, and cloves with Pepsi's smooth and versatile taste profile.'

Pepsi's bold claim and innovative campaign not only offer a fresh perspective to the beverage world but also invite a reconsideration of classic recipes.
