YouTube has announced that they have decided to increase efforts against ad blockers with a global study. Cristopher Lawton from YouTube has stated that they have started a global effort in order to encourage users to allow the ads or to try YouTube Premium in an interview given to The Verge.

Users with their ad blockers active will receive a notification saying that the playback of the video will be disabled until YouTube will be allow-listed or the ad blocker is turned off altogether. Users will be encouraged to allow advertisements and to try the YouTube Premium.

Lawton has pointed out that a similar effort has been attempted in June, however, this attempt was considered limited globally.
