Instagram Notes has gained music and translation support with its latest update.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced the new features of Instagram Notes on the Instagram Channel yesterday. Instagram Notes refers to the status messages that typically appear at the top of the inbox. The recent update has introduced music and translation capabilities to Notes.

Previously, users could only add text and emojis to their Notes. Now, users can share 30-second song snippets within Notes. The new Music Notes feature aims to enable users to express their emotions more effectively. Songs will be supported in all countries where Instagram has music licensing agreements. This feature may bring back memories of the early 2000s, when MSN Messenger allowed users to share music in their status messages.

Another notable feature introduced in this update is Note translation. Users can access translations of Notes by tapping on the "See Translation" link. This feature is commonly found within the Meta app family, including Facebook posts, Instagram posts, comments, and Reels content. With its newly introduced features, Meta aims to increase user interaction.
