LG Display, a subsidiary of LG that develops display systems, announced the development of the first display that can stretch by 50%. On November 8th at LG Science Park in Seoul, the display was unveiled to more than 100 industry, academia, and research professionals in South Korea.

LG sees stretchable displays as the pinnacle of display technologies and emphasizes the richness of their application areas since these displays can be used in many different scenarios by stretching, bending, and folding. Ahead of the global launch at the 2025 S/S Seoul Fashion Week, a fashion show was organized to show attendees the possibilities.

The flexible display prototype developed has an initial area of 12 inches. When stretched, it can expand up to 18 inches. With pixels per inch and the ability to display the full range of red, green, and blue colors, it offers a reasonable display level.
