Pinterest Invites Users to Be Unique

With its new "Do Not Repeat Yourself" campaign, Pinterest is trying to convince people to be more creative and original. The campaign aims to highlight that people can be their own worst enemies, as we have the power to suppress negative feelings of fear and self-censorship.

As part of the campaign, 5 different commercials were used, touching on 5 different themes. They all have their own characters and story. These themes are: "Fear of Failure", "Judgment", "Apocalypse", "Procrastination" and "Self-Criticism". The one-shot cinematic films were directed by well-known director Kim Gehrig.

The campaign will run on TV, in cinemas, and on social media in the US, UK, and Germany. The campaign was developed in collaboration with award-winning UK creative studio Uncommon, and the complementary media strategy was developed in partnership with global media agency Mediahub.

Andréa Mallard, head of marketing at Pinterest, said, "Our latest campaign highlights that Pinterest is a different aspect of the Internet, where you can focus more on doing and less on looking, where you can find what you love and forget about Likes. You can plan your life and try something new without being judged."
