Artists Underlined Solidarity During Disaster

During the earthquake, many people came together to help the earthquake victims who were hurt. Donations and messages of sympathy collected at events all over the world were used to send messages of solidarity.

 

At the donation night held in the Netherlands, 89 million euros were raised for earthquake victims. Karsu Donmez, whose name comes from the village in Hatay where she grew up and where some of her family died in the earthquake, sang the song "Neredesin Sen" and gave a message of support at the aid organization.

 

The world-renowned singer Madonna shared a post on her social media account, delivering a condolence message and directing her followers to donate to AHBAP to help earthquake victims.

 

The internationally famous music band Metallica also did not remain indifferent to the earthquake disaster. The band announced that it made a donation of $250,000 ($125,000 each) to Direct Relief and World Central Kitchen, which operate in the region, through its aid organization All Within My Hands.

 

Many famous artists, including Russell Crowe, Dua Lipa, Evgeny Grinko, Ellen Degerens, Antonio Banderas, and Mark Eliyahu, posted condolence messages to Turkey on social media following the earthquake.
