The long-awaited “Repost” feature has finally been integrated into Instagram. Now, users will be able to share public posts directly in their main feed without using third-party apps.

Posts shared in the new system are displayed in a separate “Reposts” tab on the profile page. Accidental posts can also be easily removed from the three-dot menu. This feature, which is currently being tested with a limited number of users, may become more widely available in the coming weeks.

This breakthrough supports Instagram's strategic goals of increasing content engagement, strengthening user loyalty, and moving the sharing experience to a retweet-like structure in X. The “re-sharing” trend in the social media world has now officially moved to Instagram.
