Levi's Designed a Giant Wall Mural Using Recycled Denim Jeans
Levi's has created a large-scale wall mural made out of recycled iconic Levi's 501 jeans to celebrate its 150th anniversary and participate in Milan Design Week. The campaign was also showcased with a billboard made out of pre-worn denim jeans on the streets of Europe. Renowned artist Ian Berry was commissioned to create this special design.
Using old 501 jean pieces in the mural's design, Berry created a large-scale mural measuring 13 x 33 feet, which was mounted on a billboard for a three-day art installation in the center of Paris. The mural showcases all jean models found in the collection, including cowboy, punk, hippie, and biker styles. It also emphasizes the concept of freedom and how diversity can lead to change, with the text "Legends Never Die".
Artist Berry drew inspiration from the history of the 501 jean, mentioning how "everyone who wears jeans does great things" and stating that he spent countless hours in the design process. However, he expressed extreme pride in the result. This mural serves as a good example of how to increase awareness about recyclable and sustainable fashion.
