Meta unveiled Meta VR Glasses at Connect 2026. The virtual reality glasses weigh around 100 grams, roughly one-fifth as much as Quest 3. Processing, battery, and storage sit in a separate unit connected by a cable, reducing the weight worn on the face.

The device uses 5K micro-OLED displays and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite processor. According to Meta, the external unit provides up to three hours of high-resolution media playback and supports 45W fast charging. It clips to a pocket or bag.

Meta presents the glasses as a device for watching films, playing games, and working with virtual screens. Voice, eye, and hand controls are supported. Meta VR Glasses are scheduled to go on sale in spring 2027 for US$1,299.99.
