Instagram has enhanced its direct messaging feature and introduced many different new features.

In a statement, Instagram shared that new features such as previewing music, sending silent messages, viewing online contacts, and replying to messages while browsing the stream have been added to messages sent through Instagram. Although the company has only opened these features to a limited number of countries at the moment, it is expected that the features will be opened to all users around the world in the near future.

If we look at the characteristics in detail;

Music sharing:

The company integrates with Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify based on the music sharing feature. Although the integration of Spotify is not yet complete, the integration with Apple Music and Amazon Music has already been done. With this feature, users can share 30-second song previews with the other user while chatting.

Silent Messages:

Thanks to the silent message feature, users can send @silent by adding @silent to the message and turning off the message notification.

Survey feature:

By sharing polls during group chat, users can interactively participate in and use polls, from collaborative activities with other group users to decision-making processes.

Function to share quickly:

If you like a post and want to share it via message while browsing the Instagram feed, you can quickly share it by long-pressing the post's share button.

Function to reply to messages in the stream:

If you receive a message from your friend while on the homepage, you no longer have to go to the Instagram DM box to reply. You can continue navigating on the main page by replying and sending the incoming message immediately.

View online contacts:

Finally, thanks to the new features, you can see the users who are online at the top of the DM box.
