Following on from the success of MSCHF's Astro Boy boots, we now have another pair of shoes that have made the jump from cartoon to real life. In honor of the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Mario's first appearance on the big screen, Nintendo and Illumination have collaborated with the old shoe company Red Wing Shoes to create a prototype pair of Mario's iconic shoes, with the goal of "turning every pixel on the screen into a stitch in real life."

Red Wing Shoes' CMO Dave Schneider stated, "At Red Wing Shoe Company, we've been providing long-lasting, durable, and comfortable shoes for workers on job sites for 118 years. We're excited to bring the same passion and energy to Mario's Boots for one of the world's most famous plumbers, Mario!"

The Red Wing Mario Boots will arrive at Nintendo New York at Rockefeller Center on March 10 in the form of a Super Mario Bros. Plumber Car and will be on exhibit there until the end of April. The Super Mario Bros  film, which influenced all of this artwork, will be released in theaters on April 5, 2023.
