Spotify Adds Personal Notes to Playlists
Spotify has announced the “Playlist Notes” feature, which allows users to add personal notes to songs, podcast episodes, and audiobooks in their playlists. The new feature adds a more personal context to playlists by letting users share why they selected certain content or what it means to them.
Following the release of the User Notes feature last month, this update also extends to Spotify’s official editor playlists. Music editors will be able to share the stories behind their song selections and the reasons for their inclusion in the playlist with listeners. The feature is initially available on popular playlists such as Today’s Top Hits, RapCaviar, and All New Pop.
Spotify also aims to help listeners get to know the teams behind the playlists better through Editor Profiles. These new features are seen as part of the platform’s strategy to boost social engagement in competition with Apple Music and YouTube Music.
