Support Call for Earthquake Victims in Turkey from Times Square
As the earthquake that caused extensive damage in our country as well as gaining wide coverage in the international media gained wide coverage, aid has been coming from different countries since the first day, and a call for help also came from New York. While earthquake victims were commemorated on the digital billboard in the famous Times Square, support was also called for Turkey.
Messages such as "The century's disaster", "Thank you for your support of Turkey", "Turkey is coming together more than ever", "Hold on to hope", "Heroes are born", and "Sadness fills our hearts" were shared with the Turkish flag on the billboard to give a message of unity.
Business people, students, long-time Turkish residents in the USA, and many foreigners came together in Times Square in New York. People who gathered in the square lit candles laid carnations and called for aid. At the event held in memory of the people who lost their lives in the earthquake, the Turkish national anthem was also sung.
