The IKEA Toy Collection Brings Back to Life Plastic Waste in the Ocean

In keeping with its sustainability principles, IKEA recycles ocean waste and has launched a toy collection featuring sea creatures.

IKEA is emphasizing the issue of sustainability in its stores and products day by day. It designed its new collection using plastic waste collected from the sea. Children's favorite animals from various countries were selected for the collection, which includes sea creatures such as blue whales, dolphins, turtles, octopus, and orcas.

The BLÅVINGAD collection, which includes toys, rugs, storage bags, and pillows, appeals to people of all ages, despite the fact that it is intended for children and young people. Plastic waste that is collected and recycled within 50 kilometers of the coast has taken its place on IKEA shelves in new forms.

IKEA announced that they designed this collection in order to announce the seriousness of this issue to large audiences, expressing their concerns about ocean pollution and the risks that await the marine ecosystem in the future, which was emphasized at the 2020 Children's Advisory Panel.

IKEA officials expressed their excitement about the BLÅVINGAD collection, which aims to raise the children of our future as conscious individuals about the oceans and to pique their curiosity about the wonderful creatures that live in the seas.
