"The world turned upside down" as farmers flip signs in France

France gained attention for an extraordinary protest. In a nationwide protest, French farmers reversed roadside signs to show their dissatisfaction with the government.

Farmers have turned the signs upside down due to the government's agricultural policies. According to Philippe Bardy, President of the Tarn FNSEA Farmers' Union, the protests were driven by the inconsistency of the demands.

The awareness campaign had a dual impact, compelling the government to backtrack and creating a worldwide buzz. It was obvious from the inverted signs that the message was "The world has been turned upside down".

According to Bardy, the rising fuel costs have become a major issue for farmers, along with delayed EU incentives, increasing bureaucracy, and competition from imports, leading him to say, "There is no other profession that suffers such a mental load".
