TikTok Will Have "Downvotes" Feature for Video Replies
After Facebook and Twitter, the downvote function will now be used on the TikTok platform. In TikTok users will be able to use the downvotes feature, which allows users to mark video replies they do not want to see. TikTok first started testing this feature in 2020, but it will now allow more users to use this feature.
In addition, thanks to the feature, users can indicate that they do not like the comment by clicking on the "Dislike" button on the right side of the comment section of the content. In this way, Tik Tok can benefit from users' feedback on what they like and dislike.
According to the official information from Tik tok:
“We've started testing a way to let individuals identify comments they believe to be irrelevant or inappropriate. This community feedback will add to the range of factors we already use to help keep the comment section consistently relevant and a place for genuine engagement. To avoid creating ill-feeling between community members or demoralize creators, only the person who registered a dislike on a comment will be able to see that they have done so.”
In addition to this feature, Tik Tok continues to work on new features that will provide content producers with options such as filtering, bulk blocking and deletion. Explanations for this feature are as follows:
"Creators whose videos receive a high percentage of negative reviews will be reminded. We will continue to remove comments that violate our community guidelines, and creators can continue to report individual or collective comments or accounts for our review."
Thanks to these new features that TikTok will introduce, it will improve the feedback loop for its users and provide access to more information to further improve its systems.
